*DECEMBER 2008 I AM TURNING 35 THIS MONTH (THE 29TH) IN CASE YOU WANTED TO SEND A GIFT! LOL....I'm serious :)*

I have found new love for my hair, I've stopped stressing over shedding (which I believe was causing more shedding) along with some other things that happened in my life, but anyhoo! I am loving what coconut oil and shea butter do for my hair. I have love for shikakai and amla as well, along with bentonite clay. I still like aloe vera gel for styling and aloe for root softening. These are all staple products and things I and my hair cannot live without!

I am taking better care of my hair, moisture, health and gentle handling. I believe the combination of these things will lead to beautiful healthy (longer won't hurt, but it's not my focus) well nourished hair!

I AM SOOOOOO SORRY YA'LL!

I am in school, my boys just finished football...I was a team mom, I still had Tto work and run my household and take care of my husband as much as possible *wink-wink*! I will have some posts and updates after the 17th, my last day of class until January.

I have been getting my hair done at the salon, roller set, and I take my own products for the washing and setting. My hairstylist is real cool about it. I do believe I will be getting twists for the first time in my life for the winter once it gets cold, maybe the beginning of December.

But, again I will talk with you all after the 17th. Thanks for still visiting and checking out the information I already have on here! Don't give up on me! :)

The year of moisture and growth.

--I will be experimenting quite a bit with natural herbs this year and more regularity of the Cassia treatment.

--I started the plastic cap routine for the summer. Oiling my hair every night and sleeping with a plastic cap or saran wrap over my hair. Rinsing it out each morning, finally, adding aloe vera gel and QB Olive Cream Detangler.

--My hair has been shedding more than it should so I have to strengthen it. I will be doing a weekly rinse with either Burdock Root or Horsetail herbs. They are at home brewing right now. As I do the rinse I will let you know which one I used.

-- I am working on some pics for the question/anser section of my page as well. Pics on the internet never come up as nicely for me, once I save and upload. I will have to do some of my own photography.

INTRODUCTION FROM 2007******************************
Just doing this natural thing. I have been natural since mid 2005. I don't know the exact date. I did not know this world was out here; all this support and information, as well as the fact that documentation was such a big part of the journey. I wish I had done the research and had documented from the beginning.

I did not do any real research or studying before deciding to go natural.
I had done a play with some ladies and out of 6 ladies, only two of us were chemically altered. Of course it got me to thinking, wondering what my real texture was and could I do this? So I justed stopped perming the summer of 2005.

Fortunately, the only other young lady (African-Cheetah! Hey girl) that was chemically altered took on the transition as well in early 2007, she had done all the research and work, so all I had to do at that point was piggyback. LOL

So here I am, and I am loving it. I do get frustrated at times, because I have never been really skilled at caring for my hair, even chemically, so being natural is work for me, but I refuse to go back to chemicals.

I welcome positive feedback, question asking and suggestion giving. Wherever I can help someone else out, I am more than willing. We are all here on the same voyage and its nice having people to ride the waves with.
