Update: February 24th 2009

I have been away for a little while, I had a minor set back, that kind of put me out on my hair: December 08' my husband left for Iraq, for the first time, so that was a big damper, about a week later I decide to get a TRIM, well im in a new area & went to a new stylist, I spoke to her & she said she dealt with natural hair all the time, she seemed really nice & somewhat knowledgable, well I trusted that she could cut my hair curly, which she said she did a lot of the time, she looked at my hair & said she would take off about 1/4 of an inch, basically the fuzzy ends... For those of you who have kept up with me through my journey know that cutting my hair curly was always a big NO NO, but I figured I would give it a try, since she felt really confident in what she could do, so I sat in the chair & as she cut it didnt seem like a lot of hair was falling to the ground, so i was ok......

I left the salon went home washed my hair, but didnt do a length check, just through it into a bun & went about my business, well to make a long story short, about a week later I was at my sisters getting ready to go out, so I washed, detangled, you know all that good stuff & something didnt feel right about my hair, so i decided to do a length check, so when I did the length check, I noticed she had cut off at least 2 1/2 to almost 3 inches, & it was back to being in very separate layers, so therefore my hair is now back to the stairstep affect I waited so long to get rid of.....

I have some pictures to show, which I will post soon, I was sooo dissapointed that I was kind of numb to the whole hair thing for awhile... My hair has grown & im feeling a lot better as time goes by, I will take it as a lesson learned & get back on track... Thanks for listening, check back for pics soon..

Im back with updates, please enjoy.

My routine has changed: I wash once a week with Joico K-Pak Chelating Shampoo, or a moisturizing shampoo, I still detangle & co-wash when needed with any VO5 Conditioner. I am using Aussie Moist conditioner as a leave-in, then my own Shea Butter whip as a sealer, I sometimes substitute this with my good old trusted Wild Hair Growth Oil. If I need a cleaner look with less frizz I will use Cantu Shea Butter Leave -in, or a gel preferably Fantasia IC or Eco Styler.
I also got a wild hair up my but and Texturized twice in the year 2009, once in April of '09 and once in September '09, so I am back in transition.
