I don't have a very complicated regimen...it's pretty simple...I believe that the little you do the better your hair will become...I'm also relaxed.
1) Once a week, I shampoo with Giovanni's Magnetic Shampoo and Deep Condition with Aubrey Organics Honeysuckle rose, White camellia or Island naturals conditioners...Every two weeks or Once a month, depending on if my hair really needs it, I would deep condition with a protein conditioner(Aubrey Organics GPB or Mane N' Tail Original Conditioner)
2) After my wash routine, I would apply a creamy leave-in(my all-time favorite is Giovanni direct leave-in) and then airdry my hair straight or by using the ponytail method with magnetic rollers added to the ends for a much smoother look.
3) I'm not much of a rollersetting person...my hands get too tired for all that...I leave that up to my stylist...Usually if I do decide to rollerset, I'll do it a week or two after my touch-up...it's alot easier for me b/c there isn't any or much newgrowth.
4) On a regular basis,I'll alternate between protective styles and wearing it down...somedays I'll wear my hair clipped up, in a low or high bun, or ponytails with the ends tucked under...to wearing my hair down in braidouts...I try not to wear my hair down ,as much, while completely straight...I do this when I just recieve a touch-up(too much moisture is being lost if i do so).
5) I moisturize my hair (both ends and hair shaft) twice daily with Wave Nouveau Moisturizing Lotion or White Camellia conditioner and seal it in with evoo or jojoba oil.
6) I stay away from direct heat regularly...I do not flat iron, blow dry, or hot curl my hair. If I want a few curls, I'll rollerset. If I want a few waves, I'll do braidouts. The only heat I use is from my hooded dryer and that is for deep conditioning only (not considered direct heat).
7) I take a liquid multivitamin called Nature's Plus Source of Life Vitamins on a daily basis. I also drink at least 6-8 glasses of water per day...since my daily water intake, my skin and hair has improved tremendously.
8) I trim my hair when needed...I dust every other touch-up...most of the time, I'll just search for split-ends and clip them off.
9) I do strong protein treatments (Aphogee treatment for damaged hair) a week before my touch-up...and 3 to 4 weeks after(if needed)...I prefer lighter proteins.
10) I stretch my relaxers every 13 weeks
11) I co-wash in the winter once a week and in the summer twice a week...I love doing co-washes, especially, when I gain a good amount of newgrowth. Co-washes leaves my hair moisturized and tangle-free. The only downside of co-washes for me, is doing them daily...if I do, my hair becomes over-moisturized/conditioned and then starts to feel all mushy and limp (not a very good feeling). - General Information
