Hello all! After years of wanting to go natural but not having the courage, I finally did it. I stopped relaxing my hair around December of 2007 and started transitioning. I was doing okay managing two different textures of hair until it got to the point were I couldn’t comb my hair down in the back because of new growth. Then summer hit and it was curtains for my at home maintenance. I was at work one Friday, it was the day for my regular two week hair appointment, and I started thinking “maybe I should just cut it and get it over with”. The longer I thought about the better the idea sounded. So when I sat in my stylist’s chair that evening I said “cut it”. After a little discussion to make sure that that was what I really wanted to do, eleven inches of hair was chopped off. Of course, once it was cut I thought “WHAT HAVE I DONE?” I managed to keep my composure outside but my mind was racing. After my stylist blew it out and shaped it up I realized it wasn’t that bad.

I’m in the process of learning how to take care of my natural hair. There is a bit of a learning curve. Right now I’m trying to the find products that work best for my hair. One thing I know for sure is that I will be using all natural products. This has narrowed my search quite a bit. I’ve decided to track my journey with pictures.

Thanks for visiting.
