- A social worker, I retired in 2006 following thirty years with California State Government in the Departments of Mental Health and Social Services. I enjoy photography, music, travel, cooking, and most sports - particularly golf - and am very interested in politics and current affairs. Regardless of your beliefs or politics I welcome your comments in these journals as well. Katie Couric recently asked both '08 Presidential Candidates which three living Americans they would choose to have dinner / discussion with. My choices would be: Jimmy Carter, Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, and Barrack Obama. Should one of them be unable to make it, I would like Kellie Pickler ready to fill in....Since my retirement, my wife and I have been to Alaska, Hawaii, Alberta and BC Canada, and to the South several times these past few years. Nashville is a favorite place of visitation. We are grandparents and the joys of our two grandchildren (granddaughter and grandson) trump all others!
