I am a freelance writer and makeup artist. I live in PA (reluctantly) where I write articles for magazines and teach makeup seminars. I also do makeup for television commercials and big box store ads. Lately, by accident, I've become a wardrobe stylist, also. I dressed the models for the new national Frigidaire ads.

I used to be a celebrity makeup artist in New York City, where I lived (why did I ever leave???) for many years. I've worked with Kimora Lee, Mariah Carey, Lee Lee Sobieski, Soledad O'Brien and many, many TV personalities. But models are my favorite. They are like beautiful dolls that I can decorate. Brides are a lot of fun, too. They're so HAPPY.

I don't have children. Don't want any. However, I have two adorable kitties. They have their own album on here.

I'm pro natural and organic products and foods. Until a few days ago I could, with good conscience, call myself a vegetarian. I fell of the wagon recently while passing a Spanish food restaurant. Those darn Hispanics and their awesome food. I am trying to do raw food, but we'll see.

Anyway, this is supposed to be about my hair...

My last relaxer was more than 10 years ago. For many years, I was strutting locs. But when I cut them off, I cheated and put a texturizer in my hair that first year or two. No more. And yes, I believe hair is very political. Especially in the U.S.
