**HAIR STATS ON WELCOME PAGE**

My 1st attempt at naturalness ( I make up words!) was 2000 but weak will power had me running to the store for a relaxer after one night and one morning. Thus I wasted 6 months of growing my hair out under micros.

Fast forward to 2005, a much stronger will to a natural me again!
I decided to grow my hair out once I found out I was moving to the DC metro area. Now this is a place to go natural!! Last relaxer was around June 2004. Decided to wear braids till it was long enough (and I was bold enough - yes I had to build up the strength) to wear my hair in all it's glory! I found a talented braider here in Maryland and we cut off the majority of the relaxed ends around Feb 2005. I think I had maybe 3 or 4". I expected more but we will see what happens!

Ok, that's me and I plan to chronicle my journey here. I have been searching for sista's with hair like mine but most of the sites displayed hair of seemingly mixed heritage. I know we come in all shapes, shades, and grades...so this was confusing. But I see this is the place to be and I am very excited!!
