I'm a full time student, a fulltime nurse and full time mom. All of these things keep me extremely busy but I've decided to create this fotki account to document my natural hair journey.

I had my last relaxer in May 2009, and had a touch up to the front of my hair in July. I cut my relaxed ends off December 16, 2009. Due to the two month difference in the relaxer to the front of my hair vs the rest of my head, the hair in the very front is much shorter than the rest but I'm letting it catch up rather than cutting it all even.

I chose to go natural because me and relaxers never got alone. It was a vicious cycle of relaxing my hair, it breaking off, getting braids to let it grow and get healthy and starting over again. Eventually I said screw it and Ive learned to accept and even LOVE my natural hair.

Im a fairly new natural but here's my regimen.

I try to co-wash every one to two weeks. I use HE Hello Hydration, Organix Coconut oil. I like to deep condition with Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, and cholesterol.

After DCing, I follow that up with two strand twists which I like to leave in place for as long as I can stand them, followed by a twist out for as long as I can stand it. I use Qhemet Alma and Olive Heavy Cream, which I love and it leaves my hair so soft and moist.

Then I wash and do it all over again.

In between washes, I spray my hair with my Aloe Grow moisturizing spray (water, aloe vera gel, castor oil, sage EO, rosemary EO, peppermint EO, and eucalyptus EO). I follow that up by sealing with coconut oil (I alternate between virgin and enriched Vatika which really softens my hair).

So far my hair loves this regimen, its soft and moist. Wish I could increase the shine, but maybe hair of my texture just doesnt shine. I hope with the low manipulation of twists and twist out I'll see major growth.
