- I went natural on August 14, 2007. I transitioned for about 3 months and I got tired of dealing with all of the tangles so I just went to the salon and got it cut off. I was kind of nervous because I have never had my hair that short before, but it worked out alright. I am not going back to relaxers because I don't want my hair damaged anymore and I want my hair to grow out strong and healthy.
I love fashion also, so maybe one day, if it's in Gods will, I will be able to get into it full time. I am trying to do more protective styles now, so that I can try and grow my hair out a little more and hopefully, it will get a little thicker also. When I was younger, my mom started relaxing my hair, because she didn't want to deal with my hair anymore because it was so long and thick, but as the years went by, I noticed that my hair was no longer thick and it was just so thin. So now, I am trying to do everything possible to keep my hair healthy. I am praying everyday that my hair will be restored back to its natural state and be long, thick, and healthy. I did my second big chop in December 2009. I am aiming now for the health of my hair instead of length. If I properly take care of my hair, the length will follow also.
Okay, I have done two more chops since December 2009. I went to a salon a while back to get my hair cut into a style. Well, the style was a definite FAIL. The lady flat ironed my hair straight and proceeded to cut it. After a few days, I went to shampoo and co wash my hair, but some of my hair did not revert back to curly and I was devistated. So, I have chopped my hair off twice since then. I still have some straight ends, but I am going to let those grow out. I will post new pics soon of how my hair looks now.
