Hey Ladies,

I am definielty new to hair care. I was natural for 17 years and never really took care of my hair. I opted for braids (messy and tore up most of the time) and pressing (with a hot comb) for those special occasions. When I discovered ceramic flat irons, I began to flat iron my hair sometimes two or three times a week. After two months of constant abuse, I could see the difference in health. Finally I realized that I enjoyed my hair in its straighten condition and decided to commit to a relaxer. It was wonderful! (no going back at least for now). When I started my healthy hair care journey in August 2008 I had neck length hair.

Hair Goals:
APL (2 inches): May 2010 Sisters Graduation
Healthy and Thick APL Hair and Ends: December 2010
BSL(4 inches after APL): April 2011 21st Birthday
Healthy and Thick BSL Hair and Ends: December 2011

As I work out everyday, keeping my hair straighten is not an option as I co-wash daily or bi-daily. I air-dry in a curly bun and sleep with a silk bonnet. I apply heat (blow dry and flat iron) only after I relax which is generally every 2-3 months. I also check length and update my comparison pics. I wrap my hair and use a silk scarf to protect my hair at night. I will usually wear my hair down for a week or two but after that its back to protective styling which I wear 99% of the time. Whenever I do get relaxed my hair is always in great condition and a get a lot of complements! I have LHCF, BHM, and Healthy Textures to thank for that!
