Auburnsunset
Well ladies,
I finally did it. I've crossed over to the au naturale side. I guess it was just a decision I made out of curiosity. I knew when I was younger I had curly hair, however I was very, very tender head so my mom relaxed or telaxed (new term I learned from Vilese) it for manageability purposes. Fortunately my mom was great with up keep and she passed it on to me. I had been so unhappy w/ my hair b/c no one seem to be able to style it and make it pretty. My hair always came out bushy or fuzzy w/ no curls in site. Got teased a lot in school b/c I never really got my hair done unless it was a special occasion. It was like a waste of money b/c within hours my hair would fall or frizz. My hair had been through the ringer w/ stylists. It had been chopped off several times and the reason was always split-ends, frizz or it was too tangled. Now how split was my ends for it to always end up in a bob? Ok these heffa’s were just not familiar w/ my texture of hair and I wouldn’t let them relax it. Could you even imagine? My stuff would have been burned out. I have a very, very, soft texture and I have to be very careful w/ chemicals. Needless to say I got sick of that tired line and I began to do my own hair. I started clipping the ends and really doing well w/ it and it grew quite a bit under my care, 15 years to be exact. Now don't get me wrong I have jacked myself up too, but I rather do it than someone else. In July 2007, I wanted a different look so I let a local beautician (referral of course) cut it into layers. Oh my goodness I was so cute that day! It was like a light shined down on me. That was the day I quit wearing my hair back for a long time. Keep in mind I was doing my own hair and I only knew five styles: bun, straw set, rod set, straight and roller set. Don’t laugh. Anyway I’ve been in transition since January 2008. I think I have a loose 3b curl pattern but it’s not as tight as I’d like, at least not yet. My roots are very tight so hopefully by December 2009 I’ll be ready to chop, chop and go w/ the flow. I’ve cut it twice since January, but not brave enough for the BC yet. I have a long heart shaped head, so no hair would not be a good look (that's my story and I'm sticking to it). You ladies inspire me so much. Your crowns are beautiful beyond belief and you all are so fab. Thanks so much for your sweet comments and support; I can’t wait till I’m 100% natural like you guys.
