Well hello,

I've been on and around Fotki for a while know...and i'm still loving looking at peoples hair and getting to now a bit about their stories. Generally I don't have as much time as I used to to just browse around or even update, so please forgive me for missing months etc in my albums.

I found Fotki by way of nappturality and i'm so glad that I did, as it just increased my interest in being natural and made it easier to communicate with like-minded ladies and be inspired and motivated at times were i'm just plain out of ideas.

From a young age I realised that relaxers just weren't for me.....whereas relaxers made other girls hair sleek and straight...... that effect hardly lasted on me as my thick hair fought through... and won each time!

I hated the smell of relaxer (still do!) I hated having my head burnt....and I hated the lifelessness of relaxed hair.

So by the age of 15/16 I called it quits and just started to experiment on my own hair....people would forever be touching my hair :-( saying 'wow it actually feels soft' and i'm like ????what did you expect. I already knew how to braid and so just gained more experience and confidence,

The best thing I found out was that AFRO HAIR DOES GROW!! lol it sounds silly now but i know so many people whos hair has just been the same length 4eva and they believe thats it due to ignorance.

***As of October 2009.....i'm going to aim for length as i've cut my hair enough....and i'm bored****
