About three years ago while "recovering" from a twenty-three year "illness", I began walking around in the woods every morning. It was sort of a physical and spiritual exercise program. As I ran accross more and more of nature's wonders I found myself wishing that someone was around to see what I had just seen. It occurred to me that if I had a camera at least I could capture some sort of representation of the wonder. I purchased what turned out to be a great camera manufactured by Panasonic with Leica Optics(!) and began my
capturing.
I soon found that photography had a couple of added benefits.
When I'm carrying the camera I am in the moment. I'm not thinking about anything but the here and now. Sometimes when I'm done looking through the lense, photographing a subject, It takes me a moment to remember where I am. It's kind of like waking from a dream.
As I began to view my photos I soon realized that the camera was capturing much more than I was seeing. I wasn't "seeing" at all, I was merely looking. See? Enjoy. Christopher
