- So this is my hair journal.
I've been natural since about 2000-2001. I was in the 9th grade where I got the inevitable 'bad perm' (199) before it was all said and done my beautiful layered just past BSL hair was fried and cut to CBL. After that I had it. no more perms.
I have to be honest until recently I never gave my hair a whole lot of attention. I t just trimmed my hair every year to Chin length (front) and Armpit Length (back). In December 08 I had to trim the split ends to just past Shoulder length.
But in the past year or so I've taken better care of my hair and as of I'm trying to stop my compulsive need to trim my hair every year, just snipping the split ends.
My hair length goal for this year is to get the front to collar bone length and the back as close to BSL as possible.
Right now I say my ultimate goal is to return to my hair length as 9th grader, the front being APL and the back being in between BSL and MBL. I've only grown about 3 inches in height since then (lol).
I'm still trying to find get my routine down packed. I have a real blog but I mainly write about the hair stuff in the journal on fotki here.
My hair type is 4a/4b with nearly no curl definition unless it's got curl activator in it., living proof that mixed folk can have 4-texture hair. I have a theory that the reason I have such ridiculously thick hair is because blacks, japanese, and the irish are known for having thick hair. That's why it's triple thick and is near impossible to colour.
Still trying to find the golden regime. but I think I've got a silver medel regime.
