I am a professional photographer in Richmond Va, and the owner of DIGITAL DREAMS photography studio. I don't think I will ever consider what I do "work" because I have such a love for photography, and I put alot of thought and time into every photo I take, from the actual shoot, to the editing, and printing. The one thing I always keep in mind is that a photo is something that a person is going to have forever, and I want to help them create a beautiful memory. Although it's tedious and very time consuming, I do all of the printing in house also. I have outsourced prints in the past, and have found that no matter how much you put into a photograph, if it's printed on low quality paper, it really takes something beautiful and devalues it. Other than my general love for photography, I think what really inspired me to go professional was when I realized that so many people I know don't have professional portraits done because of the cost. With much help from my husband, we started DIGITAL DREAMS PHOTOGRAPHY. I offer the same professional portraits you can get at a high priced studio, I just charge affordable prices. Along with traditional canvas backgrounds, the studio is equipt with the latest Chromakey technology. (Otherwise known as a"Green Screen") which makes the background options endless! I purchased the Pro Photo software recently, which also allows me to do the same digital enhancements other big studios offer. (No, NOT Photoshop! Although I DO have that and love it). Along with studio portraits, I have also done team sports, local bands, and weddings.
