- Well, where do I start? First and foremost, I'm a student at Virginia State University that's holding down a GPA that is well over a 3.0. As far back as I can remember I've always had a passion for music. Words alone can not describe how heavily music affects my life. I'm a DJ based in Richmond, VA. .....Since August 31 of this year I've decided to loc my hair when it gets long enough......to tell you the truth, I decided to start my journey for the following reasons:
To teach myself patience. I'm quite sure there were many other things I could have done that'd teach me this virtue (ex. organizing my music!), but this is what I chose. Honestly, what better than starting the locking process?
Out of my 19 years on this Earth, for as long as I can remember, I've been the same old Skip. Same brands of clothing, same colors, same taste in food, music, SAME HAIRCUT. I'm sure some would call this boring, but I like to think of it as "being conservative". "Why fix something that ain't broke?". These were the things that identified me. It's time for a change.
In honor of my grandmother's who's battled breast cancer for the past three years; A woman who's played a pivotal role in my life.
