I get rollersets and blowouts at my favorite Dominican salon weekly. I take my own products: usually, Aveda Damage Remedy (DR) poo, con, and treatment for a light protein fix, or Aveda Sap Moss (SM) poo, con, and nourishing concentrate for a moisture boost. Recently, my beloved SM line was discontinued, and replaced with Aveda Dry Remedy. So far this line is ok, I haven't noticed much of a difference in my hair since using it. <shrug> It left my hair soft, but so did Aveda Smooth Infusion which I never repurchased…only time will tell if this line will be become a staple for me.
For a straight look: I have my hair set on gray (2”) magnetic rollers. And depending on the occasion, I will get a roots-only blowout for a bouncy full look with lots of body, or a full blowout on the entire length for a sleek, silky, bone-straight look. I wrap at night, and “moisturize” my entire length with a dab Aveda Universal Styling Crème (USC), and a pump or two of their Light Elements Smoothing Fluid.
For a curly look: I have my hair set on purple (1 3/4”) magnetic rollers. And to maintain this look, I do flat pincurls with a dab of USC and some Aveda Brilliant Gloss every night. In the morning, I just pull out the pins, shake, and go.
I relax every 12 weeks with Mizani Sensitive Scalp relaxer, and I color on an as needed basis with Bigen blue-black permanent haircolor.
I trim on an as needed basis...usually once a year.
