Hello everyone, im dymnodessence and Iv'e been looking at MANY girls pages and photos for the past 2 weeks and started debating on whether or not I should create my own fotki.
The photos in my starting point album were taken (jan.10, 2008), after my BC.
Well anyway since I have been stalking A LOT of girls fotki's, I of course was inspired, but I also was not suprised to see that NONE of the girls in the HUNDREDS of fotki's that I looked at had hair as bad as mine! And the reason I say I was not suprised because it has been this way for the longest I can remember.
My hair was always an issue with me and i guess that my mom didn't really know how to care for it. It was never thick or fine, just in the middle. She relaxed my hair when I was very young maybe 6, and never did it again! Then I got it relaxed again when I was maybe 10, and then not again until i was 13 in the 8th grade!
Right now i would give ANYTHING to have the hair I had when I was 13, which was in MUCCCH better shape than it is now. Anyway, during the first few months of high school when I was 14 i wore weave pony tails not too tight (my hair was short and a bit damaged, but it was alright). Then one day I was exposed to the wonderful world of weaves (sacastically, lol*).
I got sew-ins, and had my real bangs out. Then after about two months my bangs had gotten really thin, so she started to glue them in (oooops) and my hair was all down hill from then. Up until I was 16 i wore sew-in and glue weaves, and my hair was sooooo damaged and dry, I thought that it couldn't get worse. Boyyyyyyy did I jinx myself!! I got into my first fight when I was just turning 16, and my VERY tight weave pontail ( the wrap around one with the pins) was ripped out of my head. When i went home I looked in the weave ponytail and saw my entire pony from the roots inside of it. Suprisingly I thought nothin of it. This was the summer of 2005, and the hair in the middle of my head is still only 1inch long!!!
I just recieved Cathy Howse's "Ultra Black Hair Care...6 inches Longer One Year From Now" and Shamboosies "Black Hair Care" on December 6, 2007 and started to care my hair better. My New Year's resolution is to grow some hair, ANY hair, on my head (I havn't wore my real hair outside since I was like 12)!
Well enough of my sob story! I realllllly want hair health even more than hair growth, and even if I don't get it I will know that I tried. Also that I have discovered that even though it takes more effort than other races, black girls CAN have long hair, and all the girls and women on fotki have inspired me soo much that even if I don't obtain much length, I really enjoyed watching the journeys of everyone and I am rooting for you because I know that we are one step closer to proving to other races and most importantly to OURSELVES that black girls can have long hair too!!!!!!!!!

Sunday:: moisturize 3x a day
Monday:: pre-poo, shampoo, dc, moisturize, apply BT to scalp (boundless tresses)
Tuesday:: moisturize 3x a day, baggy w/ EVOO overnight, apply BT
Wednesday:: rinse out EVOO, Co-wash, moisturize, apply BT
Thursday:: moisturize 3x a day
Friday:: pre-poo, shampoo, dc, moisturize, apply BT
Saturday:: Co-wash, moisturize, apply BT
