The flash on my camera is not working so I can't really upload any pics at the moment. I did my own relaxer last night for the first time and it came out pretty well. I think I'm going to get a hair cut sometime this week so I can have a fresh, healthy starting point. Hopefully I can get my camera fixed so I can post updates.

I've come to the conclusion that the natural thing is not for me and I got a relaxer on June 6. I was out one evening and saw a bunch of ladies with natural hair (very beautiful, but a lot of it) and I decided there was no way I could do it. I kept thinking to myself "it must take them for ever to do all that hair." I got tired of all the time and energy that I was devoting to my hair during my brief 5 month transition. So now I'm just focusing on growing long, healthy relaxed hair. My hair has always been healthy for the most part but now I'll just be focusing on growth. My hair was BSL in high school, then I cut it to APL before going to college. It will grow just below my shoulders and seem to get stuck at that length. If anyone has had a similar experience please help!! Who knows...maybe I'll try the natural thing again at a later point in time...
OK...so I've been researching going natural on quite a few websites and forums and I couldn't help but notice that every personal with natural hair has one of these photo album thingys; so I'm like, Hey! I want one too....so here I am. I think I want to go natural but it's hard to wrap my head around the idea of being without my bouncy, flowing locks. I'm just looking for pictures to see what I'm actually getting myself into.
I had my (hopefully) last perm on Jan. 19, 2008 and have no intention of doing a BC. So far my plan is to do the micros/kinky twists thing for the next year or so. Please contact me if you went natural without doing a BC. I need HELP!
April 27, 2008:
Two days ago I got kinky twists for the first time ever and I am absolutely in LOVE! I'm a little baffled as to why I never got these done sooner. They're supercute (imho) and they were cheaper than micros-which is what I normally get. Anyhow, before I got these I was really straddling the fence as to whether or not to relax my hair (maintaining it was becoming rather burdensome and time-consuming). But now thanks to my new twists, I shouldn't have to worry about breaking down and relaxing for at least another 2 months! - General Information
