Welcome to my hair album(s)!

Every sista has a hair story and I'm no different. I had my last relaxer in April 2005. Back then, I was a broke college freshman, so I let a good friend give me a touch up. We got caught up in watching a movie while the relaxer was on my head and there went a chunk of my hair. I knew long before then that I wanted to go natural, but that was the straw that broke the camel's back. For the next year or so, I pressed my hair. I transitioned until June 2006. What happened then, you ask? It got hot, I got tired and I just stopped one day. I wish I hadn't used heat--there are parts of my nappy hair that are damaged because of it. If I could do it all again, I would probably just chop.

Since I've been napptural, I've learned plenty about what my hair needs to thrive. I am so protective of it that only one other person has styled it since I quit pressing. There are always hair issues, but I'm quite satisfied with the growth and texture of my tresses. Simply put, this is the hair I was meant to have. If it were not beautiful, my Creator would not have given it to me. And now that I am locing, I am happier with my hair than ever.
