**Jan. 08 update**
I've completed my studies, however graduation isn't til next August. Currently back in JA looking for internships to bolster my resume.

I'm your regular girl next door, always up to some mischief, my nose in a book, eating, or just chillin.. thats me..

I've had permed hair from I Was 11 in high school in Jamaica, I remember I was going to a cousin's wedding and I was in the bridal party, needless to say my mother could not get my hair to comb the way she wanted to, so she straightened it.. it was so easy to manage, she permed my hair the same weekend..

I got fed up my hair about two years ago, perming it was expensive, i played ball so my hair was usually damp pretty often, and I've always admired locs, so after much research and warnings from my mother and my family, I decided to do the big chop. I stopped perming my hair in August and in December, i plaited the natural hair, tied an elastic band, and snipped the edges.. I cried, n my bf did too.. my mother was mad, saying that when I wanted to start working it would be hard because I had locs, but I explained to her the benefits of dreads and the new acceptance in the workplace (as long as my hair was clean and well groomed), so she relented and told me I was old enough..

Believe me, sometimes I regret it, not being able to tame my wild hair at times, but I keep telling myself, be patient and in time.. So fotki.com chronicles my journey, with a little bit of help and a whole lot of faith, I can do this..
