I guess I've been bitten by the photography bug in early childhood already - since my mom and dad gave me a compact half-frame film camera of soviet origin as a birthday present (AGAT 18 if I'm not mistaken - the images I got out of it were crappy at best :). Then on the film side of course were the times dabbling with the soviet Zenit and a Nikon FG (awesome camera, actually). In summer of 2006 when PENTAX came out with a camera that their main competitors took as a serious threat to their marketshare I once again took up the hobby (with a little bias to event photography and portraits -- people tend to care most about the pictures they or somebody they know is featured on). Thanks for the PENTAX decision to support old K mount lenses I've had the pleasure to use really great old school optics. For instance I often prefer a PENTAX-M lens to automatic lenses for its superb feel and with a little practice, in-body focus aid and Katz Eye focusing screen it all comes together. With autofocus crippled because of the relative darkness on the events it's hard use manual focus on an automatic lens that has 5 degree (out of 360 for full circle) difference between 1m and the infinity yet on the M 50 the 1m to infinity is just about 90 degrees.
