I guess I've been bitten by the photography bug in early childhood already - about the time my parents gave me a compact half-frame film camera of soviet origin as a birthday present (AGAT 18 if I'm not mistaken. The images I got out of it were mostly photographic accidents :). Then on there were the times dabbling with the soviet Zenit and a Nikon FG (awesome little camera, actually). During the summer of 2006 when PENTAX came out with a camera that their main competitors took as a somewhat serious threat to their market share I once again took up the hobby (with a little bias to event photography and portraits -- people tend to care most about the pictures they or somebody they know is featured on). Thanks to the PENTAX decision to fully support old K mount lenses I've had the pleasure to use really great old school optics. For instance I sometimes prefer a PENTAX-M lens to automatic lenses for its superb feel. With a little practice, in-body focus aid and Katz Eye focusing screen it all comes together. Since the venerable K100D I've had the pleasure of owning K10D, K20D and now K-7.
