- I'm a college student in Daytona Beach,Florida in my freshman year that decided to go natural! I decided to go natural after I saw the Tyra Banks show "Good Hair". I went on her website one day(just bored so I decided to check it out)and I started to look at links on natural hair. It really fascinated me because first I always thought that women with natural hair were mixed because it was generally long and the ones I saw were always light skin(crazy right?)and second because I've always liked natural hair but I just never knew my hair could get like that. Well to my surprise it could. I was completely clueless about natural hair since I grew up with a perm. I just thought that getting a perm was just what black women did, end of story. If I would've known sooner about natural hair I would have gone natural a long time ago. So I began doing lots of research all over the web and decided I definitely wanted to go natural and wear what God has blessed me with. I was really inspired. So I don't plan on getting anymore perms and I'm in my transition as I speak. My last perm was at the beginning of July, so I've been transitioning roughly over two months and can't wait until I'm a complete natural!
