The truth is, I'd have to say that I am more of a tinkerer than an imagineer. Photography does not fully come naturally to me. Not yet.

I have never been in a photography program but my inner artist studies his butt off. I have read slews of books, watched tons of videos, and have pored over the theories and works of great people, past and present. It comes from within me, this push to find perspectives rarely wandered. Because, bluntly, I despise repetitiveness and the cliché. I hate following the fold, and seeing lack of originality. However, I'm not saying avoiding these is anywhere near easy — far, very far from it. I do what I can. I tweak, I redigest, and what ultimately comes are the interpretative creations from somewheres inside me - the deeper the better - of what I've shuttered into the iris of my camera. . .. The state of mind you are in as you take a photograph, you can't go back and edit that. Those are what I have to improve through practice and perspiration. I accept the fact that I've a long, long way to go. I have to.

Regardless of the journey ahead, I've found every step deeper into photography is its own thrill and its own moment to be appreciated. Every time I carry my camera around, that's the why.
