- I have 4b/3c fine, thin hair. This is my 2nd time going natural. The first time (2003) I didn't do any research (didn't really know I needed to) didn't, have any kind of support system or anything. Them main reason I went natural is b/c I had never seen my natural hair. My mom permed my hair at age 2! Yes 2. I barely had hair. lol. My mom was a hairstylist so I grew up in a hair salon. I will say that it grew and that my mom always made sure my hair was healthy. I was always fasinated with my new growth when it came in. I thought it was pretty hair. lol. I stayed natural for a year then I wanted to go back to a straight short cut, so I relaxed. I actually didn't cut it immediately b/c I was shocked at how long my hair was. I have learned that my hair grows much faster (in the back) and slower in the crown and sides when I'm natural. It's just the opposite when it is relaxed. I have 2 different hair textures in my hair. I'm a 4b everywhere except the nape. I think this might be why it grows longer natural than relaxed. My hair is probably a 3c in the nape area. It's a much looser curl and it's finer than the rest of my hair. Anywho, this time around I've been natural for 6 months and I absolutely love it. I'm totally embracing the natural me. I'm trying to go natural in a lot of other areas to. At some point I would love to be totally natural and green. I've learned so much about natural hair and different products and styles from the natural community on you-tube. I just love it. Everyone is so encouraging. I'm just here to learn, share my journey and inspire others to be natural.
