Cameras and photography fascinate me. But conventional photography-as-art bores me. I'm not interested in a well composed picture of a house with great colors and lighting. Why? In the end, it's a picture of a house, I've seen plenty of houses, one more isn't going to excite me. My goal as a photographer is not to make you say "That's really nice" or even "That's beautiful". There are plenty of other photographers doing that, and doing a better job of it. In the end, I'm still a little boy with a camera. I want to get you out of the conventional and mundane. Rocketships, bugs, race cars and acrobats. My goal is to make you say "Wow!", get you excited. The key here is awesome people doing awesome stuff.
That being said, all the tools and techniques of photography are useful for saying what I want to say. A badly composed fuzzy snapshot of the most exciting stuff in the world isn't going to excite anyone. So I am striving to improve my work in that regard, but I want to do so in the context of exciting stuff.
Go! Move! Do!
I am working towards the goal of becoming a full-time professional photographer. For now, I am a student. In order to help me become a better photographer, I would appreciate it if you would comment on some of these pictures. Even if it's just to leave a note in my guestbook about which ones you like or dislike. I can see which ones are wildly out of focus or blown out, but sometimes I like flawed shots, and don't like the shots everyone else does. Just pointing out the better shots, or the ones that look good but are flawed helps me grow.
