- I started this album to see how my hair progresses over time. My ultimate goal is to have thick healthy midback length natural hair, even though I'll probably want more once I get to that length. Seeing all the ladies on BHM and around my college campus made me want to transition even more.
After a year of transitioning, I've done the BC and I-love-my-hair.
My Most Recent Regimine:
I have been slack with DC'ing proving that the "do it when I feel like it" approach isn't working. So I'll be washing and deep conditioning every week and cowashing b/w washes. I'll see how that works out.
Products
Shampoo:
-Shampoo for Relaxed Hair. I don't use this alot.
Conditioner: (I don't use these at the same time)
-Intense Fortifying Hair Conditioner
-ORS Replinishing Pak
-Suave Humectant (used for co-washing)
-ORS Mayo
Leave Ins:
-Glycerin/conditioner/water mix
-FOTE Aloe vera gel for for laying down hair and defining coils.
-Elasta QP Mango Butter *used for baggying*
-Olive oil *used for sealing and hot oil treatments*
Tools:
-Wide toothed comb
-Denman Brush
-Spray bottle
-Smaller toothed comb
-Plastic bristled brush(I know I know, I should be using a boar bristle brush)
-Rat tailed comb
Misc:
-Lotta Body Setting Lotion (used if I ever want to do some type of set.)
-Water in a spray bottle *When I'm prepping my hair for sets b/c some parts dry before I can get to them.*
A member from BHM suggested a great way to maximize the benefits from products during washing. This goes by the principle that warm water opens the cutile layer and cold water closes it. She said alot but this a summary:
-Wet hair with cold water
-Apply shampoo
-Rinse with cold water
-When soap is out, rinse with warm water
-Apply conditioner
-Rinse with cold water
-Apply oil
-Rinse with cold water.
