- Hey everyone's, sorry it is taking me so long to update my album. Between my camera breaking and my personal life, it's hard to update as much as I would like. So please just bear with me (or not) and keep me and my family in your prays.
I made it to five years natural July 2009. Yeahhh me!!! I transitioned for about 3 months then cut of the ends. I started out with about 3-4 inches of growth. I did get discouraged for a minute and was thinking about perming my hair, but then I got over that hump and I am really enjoying my natural journey.
Right now my hair is approaching bra strap. I bet my nephew a dollar that I could have hair almost to my butt five years from now, so needless to say I have a lot riding on this..lol. I have to change the minds of young folks at a young age about natural hair, in five years from now he will be old enough to have a job so I plan to get my money!
I have failed in REALLY taking care of my hair like I should, but hopefully I can put an end to that. This year I will concentrate on deep conditioning and moisturizing more often. This means deep conditioning once a week and moisturizing almost daily. My hair gets so dry sometimes especially being in this Florida weather. I will keep braids that I will maintain for a couple of months using the same method, still do the baggie method on occasion, and continue to twist my own hair sometimes. I think protective styling is what helped me achieve the growth I have now, I just need to step my game up a notch.
