Mervqueen ***HAPPY HOLIDAYS EVERYONE***
I've been thinking about going natural for awhile. I was very afraid of the reactions I would get from family and friends. After discussing my decision with my husband, I decided with God's help to leave the perming days behind.

I know that this journey will not be an easy one. I have already encountered a few issues, such as what do I do with these different hair textures? I've been perm free for just a short time. My last chemical process was 02/02/07.

I'm prepared to do the work it takes to grow a happy, healthy, head of hair. I am open to suggestions and all helpful tips, so please feel free to leave your comments. I look forward to sharing this journey with all of you.

I got a water filter. What a difference!!!

UPDATE: 11/05/2007...... I GOT THE SURGE!!! I got two bottles. I would have gotten more, but I ran out of money :(. Check my product album for upcoming pics. After all the stress I went through to get this.....in 14 days.....I expect hair down to my butt. *LOL*

I just thought I should share my BIG news. (pathetic huh, I know) *LOL*


UPDATE: 02/02/08 I did it!!! I've reached my ONE YEAR chemical free mark y'all.

UPDATE: I celebrated my Nappiversary on July 4, 2008. I am so happy. Thank you all for the tremendous support.

UPDATE : October 2, 2008, I am now 20 months chemical free!

UPDATE: November 10, 2008 I am now embarking on a healthier lifestyle. I am starting this process by detoxing with a natural whole body cleanser. I will be very careful as to what I put in and on my body. No more harsh chemicals, perservatives, and un-necessary junk!

I will report all stages of this journey. If anyone here has suggestions or tips please please share.

Prayers are welcome too!

UPDATE: 12/06/2008
I have been using more natural hair care lines and my hair feels great! I have also been using Mega Tek as my growth aide since November 15, and it's working great. I am now 22 months relaxer free and loving it!

I am now 2 years chemical free ladies. I am so proud and happy that I stuck with it. Thank you Lord!!!!

My hair is doing really well. I have box braids in for now. I wash my hair less, so that my braids stay in longer. I have not purchased one single hair product this month. I am so proud of myself. I have now figured out my top 3 favorite hair care lines;

However, I do have some other products from different lines that I will continue using like the Oyin Honey Hemp Conditioner, Qhemet Biologics Burdock Root Butter Cream, and some other stuff.

I am now 27 months chemical free!

2 year natural....Yaaay for me! I am just loving my hair and this journey. Year 3 here I come :-)

My hair has been doing really well. My ends are a bit funky, but that will be taken cared of really soon. I've been moisturizing, sealing, and protecting them. I did some kinky twist and will lightly dust when I take them down next month. I was hoping not to have to do a trim or dust until the end of the year when I straighten, but a girl's got to do what a girl's got to do :-)
