I significantly down-shifted my Fotki activity on January 28th, 2010. That was when I uploaded my last *regular* pic to Fotki. I upload photos elsewhere now. I continue to upload Honorarium photos here. Honorariums are pics I create to honor my friends who comment a lot, and they often use these photos as their avatar because the photos are about them - not me. I've been creating and posting Honorariums in a private access folder since January 2007. Currently I have 158 honorariums posted here.

I am not able to post all honorariums on Fotki due to the fact that I sometimes weave last names or locations into images to personalize them. Some friends do not want that sort of information to be known by anyone but me. When I create an honorarium with identifying info for a person who wants that info to be kept under wraps, instead of posting the photo, I email the image to the person for whom it was created. So you see, I have created far more Honorariums than get posted here.

Now that I am in Fotki retirement, someone asked me what my intentions are with this Fotki account. My intention is to keep this account alive forever. I want it to outlive me. This account is one of my online art galleries, therefore I do not ever want to delete/flush the images and the comments which accompany them. Comments on my photos represent communication, relationships and friendships. I do not ever want to lose those things, either. I put way too much work into this account to delete it. Also, to delete it would be disrespectful of the time others spent commenting.
