Hello to all my lovely natural ladies out there, my name is Ruthie, Im 19, and here's my hair story...


I wanted to get my hair box braided since i never had my hair done with synthetic hair in my life--BIG mistake...I took it out 3 weeks afterI got it done (I get bored easily) and my hair was locked up!! I tried my best to detangle but needless to say, it didn't work out the way i planned...so in a moment of bravery i chopped it all off!! I was so scared after...I didn't know what to do with short hair!! but I got online, did TONS of reading, and with the encouragement of the ladies on this site as well as NC and other sites, I've had the strength to embrace the new me...AND IM LOVING EVERY SECOND OF IT...

This journey has taught me to :
love myself for who I [[really]] am...
to not follow the fads in hopes of fitting in,
AND MOST OF ALL
to discard from my life ppl who only liked me when i was following the crowd...

My natural journey has taught me so much more than just how to work with my hair, I've learned what true beauty really is--inside AND out

Type: 3b in the back, 3c on top, 3c/4a(???) on sides (I damage my hair-constantly twirling the sides of it)
Med-fine hair in back, thick on top & sides (yea...my hair is weird)

Products : I try to keep it natural as possible--
