- I've been natural all my life and I think I'm at the point now where I'm finally satisfied with my natural hair and I have no desire to return back to the "dark side" (press n' curls)
I've also realized that I will never really have a routine because I keep changing it up so often. With my hair, I learned it looks better in different environments, mostly due to the hard or soft water. In T-town, AL it's great, but in England it sucks. I'm learning to deal with it though.
I've also realized that my hair grows most when I don't do anything to it. That involves cutting and combing it. I know a lot of people probably don't agree with this, but I've seen the most growth when I just leave my hair alone and stop trying soooo hard to "make it grow"
My Current Routine:
I really don't have a permanent routine right now because I'm being curious about different things I want to try.....but for the most part this is what I do:
Winter:
Wash every 2-3 days and condition. Detangle once a week.
Wearing lots of twists and sew-ins for protection.
Summer:
Wash once a week...I use Bentonite Clay if I have the time
Co-wash twice a week (still using Suave)
Leave in conditioner everyday! (paul mitchell's The Conditioner)
Deep condish once a month (honey, evoo, egg, cholesterol)...if that...
Styling with Eco Styler gel....Kinky Curl is great if you have $30 to spend on one hair product....I don't....
Vitamins (not currently taking on a regular basis, but trying to as often as possible) :
4500 mcg Biotin
800 mg Evening Primrose
MSM with Glucosamine (1 dosage...not sure the mcg...just taking suggested serving on the bottle...glucosamine is for my joint pain)
1 One-a-day multivitamin
