Hi everyone. I'm really excited about sharing my journey to growing healthy, thick, strong natural hair. I've seen a few albums and I'm very, very elated that so many people have been nice enough to help.

Since, my hair is thinning badly and what appears to be a little balding on one side, I'm not ready yet to post a picture of the real me. My last touchup was appoximately 12 weeks ago (Jan 2009) and quite frankly, I'm really struggling to not go and get a relaxer.

Seeing the many pictures of fellow African American women, who just started recently or have had natural hair for 10 years or more, is so encouraging. Also, the varity in hairstyles is beautiful and amazing!

I am 15-20 years older than most women out here, but, I will actually be learning from all of you. My first relaxer was probably around the age of 11 or 12. The thinning and slight balding hair, burning with relaxers (no-lye and Domincan "natural" products) and in the last five years, the length having to be cut becuse split ends; have lead me to go natural.

I am a Christian and striving to learn about and live more, like Him!!
