I remember wanting to wear my hair natural since I was about 13 years old. That was 2 years after I got my 1st relaxer. At that time though, it was not cool to have natural hair. Only older women like my dear Grandma, Christians, or girls who couldnt afford it would be natural. There is no way I could have been in the "in" crowd with natural hair, unless of course I was mixed with something.

It took me 16 years of admiring other peoples tresses and wishing they were mine to finally do it. Now there is no turning back for me. When I 1st big chopped 3 1/2 years ago, I fell in love with the texture of my hair instantly. I freaked out about the look but the feel of my natural hair won me over. I finally got what I was longing for for so long. My hair was natural, short but natural. I dont think words can express the way I felt about finally being natural.

I am most grateful to Dee and the ladies at NP for the support I received prior to and since becoming natural. I received my inspiration through the many albums of the WOW and now I am more than happy to be one of those women sharing her album with the hope of inspiring others.
