I've been natural since 4-24-03 and am loving it! I've lived the lie of having a perm for so long. When I was little, I used to tell my mom I wanted a curl. She used to look at me crazy and tell me to go put some water on my hair and get out of her face. Now I understand what she means. I wish I would of started my hair journal from the beginning, but it's not too late, I'm still learning. When I started excercising, my hair would sweat out and I would come home and blow dry it daily and noticed it was starting to break off because of all of the heat. It was frustrating because I didn't want to give up my workouts just to keep my hair straight and permed. I, out of the blue, decided to cut all of the perm off and see how I would like it...I LOVED IT!! Although it took me almost 2 years to figure out how to take care of my natural hair, it was worth the journey. I have learned how to appreciate and take care of the beautiful hair that God gave me and I flaunt it daily with pride. Hope you enjoy my album.
