I started my natural hair journey September of 09, my older sister Dee ( mademoiselle nuveau/ Haiti 1 L.O.V.E) is my biggest inspiration because she went natural and instilled in my head the benefits of loving oneself with their natural beauty. Prior to Dee going natural I thought i had the worlds ugliest hair type because growing up it has always been kinky, coarse, and short but she stayed on top of her hair and i felt it was such a courageous thing to do, not to mention all the benefits that come with having natural hair. So one day i got up, took a look in the mirror and cut all my hair off (without transitioning or anything!), my brother finished the rest. From that point on i realized one thing lots of black women don't..My hair does grow, and with Dee on my side she shows me that i too can be beautiful with my kinky hair. I am a 4c hair type and Dee is 4a, a lot of her products do not work on my hair so she advised i join the Fotki family for inspiration and to find naturals with my hair type to share tips. I will never go back to perms and weave, they are irrevocable. Being natural is the new black and I’m all over it! Feel free to add. Thanks for stopping by
