In January 2008, I celebrated one year of being NAPPTURAL. It has been and continues to be a wonderful journey. I chose to be napptural because although I wore my hair free of chemicals for several years, I would still press and blow-dry it. My hair became severely heat damage, it thinned out, and I had hair loss at my crown.
I no longer use heat on my hair; I do not use a comb, very rarely brush and rarely use shampoo.
I am here to share my journey with others and to learn from others.

There are lots of women on Fotki who have been very helpful to me but I send special shout out to, BeautyWitch, Lina, and Tiffany E, who even before I had a Fotki were kind enough to respond to my questions via email. They truly exemplify the sisterhood in the natural journey.
It is in sharing that we all regain our power and eradicate the brainwashing we experienced about 'nappy' hair.
