I started my natural hair journey Oct 2001. I did the BC. I wore my hair freely before making the decision to get Sisterlocks April 2003. I wore these for 2 1/2 years (Sept. 2005), then I manually removed over 500 locks over a period of 2 1/2 months. That was a very long & arduous task, but the experience taught me patience. Once all the locks were removed, I wore my hair freely, once again, but was not satisfied with my hair. I had lost so much hair from the removal of my locs. So out of frustration, I backslid & permed my hair in Feb 2006. Regretting my decision terribly, I resorted to kinky twists & zillions as an attempt to grow out that dreadful perm. I BC'd again Aug 2006 and wore my hair in 2-strand twists to start the locing process -again. Well, Dec 2007 and July 2008 I backslid again....Now, here I am making a firm decision not to convert back to the lye...EVER!!!
