- Hey, my name is Rel and I'm currently in grad school in Miami, FL. For the most part of my life, my hair has been natural and I would get my hair straightened with a pressing comb to get a straight look. Awhile back when I was in high school, I got a relaxer for about 2 years but only like 3 times a year. It looked nice and I enjoyed having my hair fall on my back all the time, but I really didn't style it or anything and I kinda treated my hair the same as when it was natural, so I stopped relaxing it and within a couple of months it was back to normal. As I got older, I mainly get weaves and just work around my natural hair since I CANNOT DO MY HAIR TO SAVE MY LIFE (no joke). I put weave in for this reason and because hair has not been easy for me to manage, and until college my little cousin was always there to through some braids in it or style it (she spoiled me). Nowadays, I see all kinds of neat hair tricks that I would like to attempt to do, and I am interested in getting my hair healthier in its natural state because I really have not been paying attention to it like I should. At this point it is damaged and my sides are extremely thin. I don't have a hair regimen or product line specific for my hair, so any advice would be helpful.
