hi all!

i had my last relaxer in 2001, but had no idea what to do with my hair, so ... i kept it braided up for about 3 years. (i wouldn't advise that as a way to transition from permed hair to natural, by the way ... braids and twists with added hair are great, but you should give your hair a break.) then i discovered nappturality.com, which gave me the courage to not only learn about the care of my natural hair, but reveal it to the world. :)

i had loose hair from april 2005 to january 2007, which is when i had sisterlocks installed. while i love the look of sisterlocks and thought they were how i wanted to lock my hair, i realized that my admiration of traditionals was overwhelming. and i knew that i needed to combine my locs. so i did - via braids, in september 2007.

i'm not upset at the money or time i spent on SL's, because i believe everything happens for a reason. but i knew that i wouldn't feel comfortable shelling out that much money for the next 10+ years (or however long i have my locs). and i truly do not have the patience to retighten that many tiny locs myself. i know some people do, and they're very good at it, but that's just not me.

i'm really pleased with my ever-evolving traditional locs and can't wait to see them grow. :)
