Welcome to my banknote page! I collect world paper money in my off-time, and all of these scans are from my collection. I'd like to think it's a little less dorkier than collecting coins....but it's a fine line. While none of my notes are for sale, if any specific notes interest you I'd be more than happy to direct you to where I obtained mine. All quoted prices are from the Standard Catalog of World Paper Money.
This all started many years ago while living abroad in Bahrain, Italy, Korea, and Japan. Having to use many different currencies obviously sparked an interest and I've been collecting ever since. Not surprisingly, I have a slightly keener interest in the countries I've lived in...but my goal is to eventually have notes from every issuing authority in the world. Once my budget allows, I'll hopefully have crispy new notes from Palestine, the Republic of Texas, and others. But for now, I'm content with collecting the more common post-1961 "moderns".
