After being natural for two years I took life's frustrations out on my hair and relaxed.
For me personally this last relaxer experience was like the scene in the Matrix where Neo finally "saw" the matrix (the green binary digits). As my hair literally dissolved from it's natural state to NOTHINGNESS I knew relaxers were not for me. Also my scalp felt irritated a good few days afterwards...a sensation I remembered but never thought was abnormal in the past. In most cases I see the use of relaxers as activity where someone doesn't know any better but now since I've been natural for two years I KNOW BETTER!!!

As I walk about the streets of London I see hundreds of women with SEVERELY DAMAGED OVER PROCESSED HAIR... but they continue with the madness. Insanity is doing the same thing and expecting a different outcome. Then of course they add tracks to try and reintroduce some volume into the hair they have fried. We know the issue runs deeper than the versatility of style for most women because they wish there hair was Hawaiian Silky :-D

Ultimately I miss my afro textured hair and want a head of long healthy hair and the relaxer is not going to assist me in reaching that outcome, so I'm restarting my natural journey ASAP!

I do understand the relaxer facilitates certain styles which cannot be achieved on natural hair...but the thought of applying that product to my hair LITERALLY makes me feel sick because I know it is killing the health of my hair. The same addiction we black women have to relaxers is the same addiction white women have to bleaching their hair blonde...that don't give a f*ck about the damage they just mindlessly buy into the propaganda which ultimately serves to make the corporations rich...and I refuse to fund an industry that tells me that my creator made a mistake.

Anyhoo let me leave it here... I could go on forever...
If I was Prime Minister I'd ban relaxers and all the salons would have to go underground and hair stylists would have to live in the shadows with Vincent (Beauty & The Beat TV Show) and 'em *lol*
