Hi, yall! I am from Sacramento California. I currently go to the University of Phoenix for my BS (ha ha) in Criminal Justice Administration. I am so happy after two years of schol constantly I will be graduating on September 15, 2007. Whooo- hoo!! The next step of course is to find a job with my degree. But no worries =)
I have recently decided to try to really grow my hair out. I am getting tired of wearing fake hair. Don't get me wrong. I love to change up my look all the time and look Fab-bu-lous doing it. But just wish it was mine=( I am sure you wonderful cats out there no what I mean. So I decided to go on a hair journey. I have researched and found several sites hat give awesome information on this hair growing stuff.

Here is a site that gives wonderful info on breakage, protein & moisture This was written by Sistaslick- good stuff

Here's one by a lady who's hair care I am kinda following It's the crown ang glory method. Great tips on lots of stuff. From washing to combing to wearing wigs/weaves and more check it out

Here's another one by a lady who is black (Cathy Howse) and has been providing info and books on our hair since 1989 and has been growing hers out too- really informative. Her FAQ's & Cathy's Hair Tips will answer many of those" Why should I do that to my hair?" questions that you may have about many of the methods we are told to do with our hair.

Based on my research and my lazy-ness. i discovered my hair care techniques. Of course growing hair and finding the rights products for yourself is an ongonging process and I lke to keep my processes shor and sweet (ahh). So for this month (June 2007) my regimine is as follows:

Hair Regimen

~Wash/ Deep condition 1-2 x a week (I'm lazy 1x a wk)
=Shampoo w/ SoftSheen.Carson Optimum Oil Therapy ultimate Recovery Shampoo
=Deep condition w/ LeKair Cholesterol Plus Aloe Formula (Aloe is a Protein)

~Clarify as needed (have not needed to- this is done when hair products stop working for your hair and you developed dandruff out of no where)
= Clarify w/ Garnier Fructis Fortifying Shampoo (makes my are squeaky clean-literally- and hard as a rock- know it's clean

~Infusium 23 Leave-in treatment (used daily) protein based

~ Pure Glycerine mixed w/ African Royale M.O.M. Miracle Oil Moisturizer (or water best moisterizer in the world) (used daily)
~ SoftSheen .Carson Optimum Oil Therapy Hair and Scalp Quencher (Makes my hair soft. It does feel like oil in my hair- very light though) (used daily)
~ Fantasia IC Hair Polisher Daily Treatment (used daily)
Remember= oil is not a moisterizer it's oil- use it to seal the moisture in your hair especially your ends

No heat. I air-dry. I have to put my hair in a pony to dry or it wil be too thick, kinky and dry to comb easily. If it drys in a pony it stays straight- no heat needed.
Protective styles: Weaves, wigs, braids, or phony pony

Hair Growth aids/Supplements
~I don't really take them. I hate swallowing pills and don't believe they help hair grow. So for my health- every now and again I take a multivitamin for the Calcium & Iron women's bodies need to be strong.

This is what I do. But we will see at the end of this month if my hair care works or not. If not it's time to switch up.

Sorry for the typos. i know there are probably many =0
