WHY I STOPPED:
I was tired of chemicals, and of relaxed hair that frizzed at the *slightest* hint of moisture. I figured for all that swelling I might as well lose the straight look and rock a real fro :-)... so I decided to let my hair shine in its natural glory.
WHAT I'VE LEARNED:
I've found I pay more attention to what I put in my hair, which has extended to what I put into my body and on my skin. I've become a healthier eater and a more informed consumer. I READ LABELS now, which is funny because I used to just smell things and feel the texture.... as if that made the ingredients *good* for my hair. (ha!) My natural hair has moods and personality my permed hair lacks, and it'll loudly inform me when I'm using the wrong hair products. I haven't quite figured out my regimen yet, but I'm learning. I've discovered when I love and pamper my hair the way it deserves (this means investing in organic cone-free and sulfate free shampoos, etc), my hair shows appreciation and loves me back. :) I'm just excited. Man I love my hair!
