- This is my hair journal. I stopped using chemical relaxers in my hair in 1999 when I was 13, but I feel that my transition to 'napptural' hair has only just begun. The 7 years after relaxers, I flip-flopped from braid extensions to blow dryers and hotcombs and then back to braids. It is now 2006, and my hair is shouting that it has had enough. So, this year I am attempting to be TRULY napptural. That means, no heat, no blow dryers, no hot comb, or curling iron.
