Hair Regimen…..

Daily Supplements and Healthy Routines:

(2) GNC Women’s Ultra Nourishair vitamins
(1) 1-A-Day weightsmart multi.
(2) Chewable vitamin C 500mg tabs
(1) Flax oil 1000mg
(1) Evening primrose oil 1000mg
(1) Fish oil 1000mg
(1) Vitamin E 400i.u.

1. 64-100oz of water daily. (If you can’t drink str8 water, try Vita-Splash or Crystal light singles)
2. 2-4oz of carrot juice. (Bolthouse Farms is so bomb! I mix mine 50/50 with Juicy Juice)
3. Exercise at least 3 times per week.
4. Eat plenty of fruits and veggies.
5. Eat foods high in protein.

My Staples: listing favorites first…

Moisture shampoo: Crème’ of Nature detangling shampoo, Silk elements luxury moisturizing shampoo

Clarifying shampoo: Pantene Pro-V daily clarifying shampoo (I normally clarify once a month)

Moisture conditioner: Crème’ of Nature nourishing conditioner, Neutrogena Triple Moisture daily deep conditioner, or In(fus)ium23 moisturology conditioner.

Protein conditioner: ORS mayo, Motion’s CPR treatment, or my own protein mix…

1. 1 cups of mayo
2. 1 egg (beaten)
3. 5 tbsp olive oil
4. 5 tbsp coconut oil
5. ½ cup moisturizing conditioner of your choice

Directions: massage into hair and scalp, cover with plastic bag, and leave in for 15-45min. DO NOT USE HEAT!! Great as a pre-poo 

Leave-in: Silk elements mega silk leave-in crème (moisture), or Profectiv long n healthy anti-breakage mega moisture (strengthener).

Heat Protecting sprays: Nexxus Heatprotexx spray, or Dove intensive damage care spray.
Heat protecting serums: Fantasia IC straightening serum, or John Frieda frizz ease w/ thermal protection


My Routine…

Night:
I try to keep my hair tied up when I’m around the house, so I do this as soon as I know I’m home for the night. First I apply a dime size amount of leave-in (moisture or strengthener, according to what my hair needs.) to my hair, concentrating on my edges, nape, and ends. Then, I wrap my hair around making sure my ends are smooth and tie it with my satin scarf.
Morning:
When I wake up, I uncover my hair and apply a very small amount of leave-in. Then I wrap it back up and tie it up while I’m in the shower and getting ready. Before I leave for work, I take of my scarf, comb my hair down and I’m good 2 go.

Washing:
I wash my hair once a week. First, I pre-poo for 15-45min. with my “protein mix”, shampoo w/ crème of nature, apply a moisturizing conditioner, cover with a plastic baggie, and get under the dryer for 30 min. Then, I rinse out the conditioner with warm and then cold water at the end to seal the cuticles. Once done, I towel dry my hair and apply a small amount of heat serum to my damp hair (always concentrating on the nape, edges and ends). Then, to make combing easier I apply Motion’s foam wrap, detangle my hair with a large tooth comb, wrap it around my head and secure it with a wrap paper. I sit under the dryer for about 5 min, and tie it up with a satin scarf. I usually do this before bed so I can air-dry it over night to keep from using so much heat.

Styling:
Right now I don’t have any protective styles because my hair is in a short style and looks better just wearing it down. I flat iron my hair after every wash with my CHI nano. Before I start, I section my hair into 4-6 sections, sprits each section with heat protecting Spray, and apply a small amount of heat serum (mainly to the ends). After I’m done straightening, I apply my leave-in’s, wrap my hair around my head using clips, if needed. Then, I gently run a brush over my wrapped hair to make sure it is lying straight and smooth. Once it is TOTALLY smooth, I wrap plastic wrap around my hair tightly and get under the dryer for 10-15 min. When I comb out my hair, it is silky and shiny with lots of body.

Relaxers and Trims:
I faithfully get my relaxers at the salon every 6 weeks and I have a small trim with every relaxer. For me, stretching relaxers = shedding and breakage which will lead to damaged, see-thu ends and an even bigger chop at the salon. I love long hair, but to me if my hair is not healthy and full then what’s the point?
