 | Im 23 years old, after over ten years of processing my hair with relaxers I said enough. I was surfing the net about a year ago and came across NAPPTURALITY. I found this site to be very informative, so much so that I made the decision to go natural for the rest of my life.It took me about a year to the date June19,2006 when I shaved all the chemicals away. It was a very liberating feeling, and I look forward to exploring the real me napps in all.As a child my mother didn't know what to do with my hair, she had curly easy managable hair. She would put a little water on the brush and brush her hair back.By the time she was done, it was sleek and neatly curled at the ends. Well she thought she could do the same with me,I remember her saying, "girl your hair is so thick, and it just sucks up moister".That led to my aunt putting this white substance in my hair- A RELAXER, not knowing it would change my life forever.There was a time where I wouldn't leave the house without getting a fresh perm.I'm just glad that part of my life is over, and now that I have a daughter of my own I know that I will never put chemicals in her hair.
