I'm a stay at home Mommy of 2 very active boys. Born, raised and went to college in Cali (Go Trojans!)--now I call Texas home. I've finally had enough of the relaxer and the thick again, thin again hair cycle. I want healthy hair! I actually believe that I had no business getting a relaxer in the first place. The fine and thin nature of my hair doesn't make me a good candidate for chemicals anyway.
My last relaxer was a mild one in February 2007. I did the intitial cut on March 7th, 2007 and I thought that I got most of the relaxer. However, as my natural hair grew I saw another texture taking over and realized the hair on the ends must have been left over from the relaxer. So I began slowly cutting off the rest of the relaxer. By the time June came I had cut off more than one inch and a half of the remaining relaxed hair. Now I am 100% natural and there's no turning back! I am excited! I love the texture of my hair and I am having fun experimenting with new products.
Looking at all the beautiful pictures that everyone post of their hair...I can't see why we've been covering it up so long with these chemicals. I am glad that some of us have seen the light and have inspired others. Can't wait to post pictures of my progress.

My hair type is mostly pen spring coils, fine and thin. The exception is the middle of my head which seems to be spongy more of a wooly wave than a coil and it's very hard to define and a little thicker. So my hair will look so cute from the front then I turn to the back or side and it looks funky. It doesn't help that my head is shaped funny. So I always have to take extra time with that area.

****My apologies on the picture quality in this album. I still don't know how to work my digi cam so I don't know how to get the close up texture shots. They always come out blurry!***UPDATE**Got rid of that digicam and got a new one. Pics should look better now.
