Due to life happening, I just haven't been on here unfortunately to update my fotki in what looks to be a little over a year. So here's a synopsis, I've been neglecting my hair, failing to do regular DTs and wearing my hair mostly straight. On the plus side my hair has grown considerably (pics are coming) while wearing it straight although my ends seem to have suffered. I've put myself on a DT and protective style challenge starting in January. I'll probably end up doing mainly braid outs but we'll. I have updated products (coming soon).

I chopped of a **bleep** load of hair (March 2010) - starting over more focused than ever.

My hair is natural. I got my first perm at 17 in 2001 because I never learned how to do my hair. I did my first big chop in july 2002 when I went into the military. My hair never seemed to respond well to perms, they never had a big impact, it was not hard to grow it out the first time.
I did a second big chop in August 2005 and have been abusing it ever since with heat. I used to be a seasonal curly, where I would only bring them out in the summer. I received a really bad hair cut in fall 2008 in an effort to reduce the frizz and fuzz and decided to become a full-time curly. I am excited with this move as I believe it expresses my personality more.
I cut my hair in 3 stages. First cut: March 2009, Second cut: June 2009 (from ear to nape) Final cut: July 2009 (widow's peak to ear). The last time I applied heat to my hair was June 2009 for graduation and then again in June 2011 for graduation again.

I am currently on a protective/ styling challenge until April 2010. No heat or trimming until April 2010.

Here is my routine: Updated
Clarify monthly using Bentonite clay
Pre-poo with EVOO and CO
Condition with Garlic Deep Conditioner
Wash weekly with Chagrin Valley Ayurvedic Poo Bar
Deep Condition with Shea Moisture Deep Conditioning Mask w/ honey
Condition with Yes to Carrots
Apply Organic Virgin Coconut Oil (Whole Foods Brand)
Apply KCKT and Shea butter
Style
Henna about twice a month
Protective styling 24/7
