This is a documentation of my natural hair growth journey....
I spent my whole life fearing my natural hair and thinking it could never be pretty enough. I hadn't even given it a chance. My mom started relaxing my hair long before I had any say in it and I truly believed that relaxing was the best and easiest way to deal with my hair. Not to mention I thought it looked so much prettier straight than it did nappy. I thought spending 3 hours every week frying my hair to get it straight and then consistently wrapping, curling, etc was somehow the definition of "manageable".

I feel bad now about having given my God given traits so little credit.

Now that I can actually see my what my natural hair looks like I've realized it's so much prettier than I ever thought it was....it's so much prettier than my boring, crispy relaxed hair ever was.

I am in love with my tight curls now and I feel crazy for having hid them for so long as if I had reason to be ashamed......

I can now see that my hair wasn't some mistake God made....he knew what he was doing. He blessed me and I refused to accept what he gave me for so long. I was so obsessed with thinking that I would look the very best with hair that was completely unlike what he gave me.

It's funny how I feel so lucky to have my nappy hair now. I used to think it was a curse that was keeping me from being beautiful......
I never know what my hair is going to look like as time goes by so everyday is exciting for me, nowadays....

I love touching my hair and feeling the texture of it....it's a completely new experience and shaving my head for it was well worth it. I ahve never looked back.
